Turning Scrap

Haselden used a wire rope, approximately one and a half inches in diameter, found on the shore of the Thames. This piece of flexible and twisted rope was attached to a machine in the gallery. The machine was nine inches above the ground and tended to accentuate the length of the rope, by rotating it fairly slowly deep into the space.
