Anne Tallentire
Video DVD 31 min
Video performance VHS 57 minutes
Video Loop

A work in three parts first exhibited when Tallentire represented Ireland at The Venice Biennale in 1999. A video projection depicts, in real time, dawn rising over a nondescript view at the edge of the city. Sounds of the hum of city traffic gradually amplify as the video records what the viewers attention gets drawn to in the breaking light.

A video/performance cycle shot with a hand held camera in which a series of improvised actions are carried out during the last light of day. Occasional sound breaks into this otherwise silent video that documents shards of broken glass being emptied on to the ground , floor boards lifted, ink spilt from a metal container, a small table unfolded etc.

A video still taken from an action in trailer by work-seth/tallentire depicting the back of Tallentire's ear pressed against a concrete wall forms the third part of this work.
