Pantalla (Screen) & Proyeccióni (Projection)

Pantalla (Screen) & Proyeccióni (Projection)

In both works, the source of light comes from projectors deprived, however, of their external function, like the TV sets in Situación de Tiempo.

Pantalla is a one-day event that took place in the auditorium of the Instituto Torcuato di Tella, where a film projector simply projected a frame of light on to the screen. Proyección takes a similar approach. Two projectors are placed back to back in an exhibition space. One throws a light image on to the wall; the other projects light into the open space where it disperses and disappears. The lack of pictorial information, of film and slide, shifts the focus to viewers' expectations and undermines visual conventions.

Shown at the Instituto Torcuato Di Tella as part of Experiencias Visuales (1967).
